PERSONAL INFORMATION
In general, you can visit Aadda.org on the Internet without telling us who you are and without giving any personal information about yourself. We do require Association Membership or Associate Status to access certain site features such as the AADDA Community Chat Boards. This will consist of a registered ID as well as a Password to gain access to and use these features.
As a site visitor, your e-mail address, if given or collected through our feedback or contact feature, is held in strictest confidence by the AADDA and Aadda.org. This information is never released without your expressed consent. There are times, however, when we may need additional information from you.
You may choose to give us personal information in a variety of situations. For example, you may want to give us information, such as your name and address or e-mail id, to correspond with you, to process a request for content, or to process an application for Membership or Associate Status in the AADDA. We intend to let you know how we will use such information before we collect it from you; if you tell us that you do not want us to use this information to make further contact with you beyond fulfilling your requests, we will respect your wishes. If you give us personal information about somebody else, such as a spouse or work colleague, we will assume that you have their permission to do so. If you request something from the AADDA website or a specific AADDA Member for example, a product or service, or specific marketing materials, we will use the information you provide to fulfill your request. To help us do this, we may share information, with others, for instance, other parts of Aadda.org, the Association Member(s) or Associate(s), or other AADDA Association or Business Affiliate Partners. In connection with a transaction we may also contact you as part of our customer satisfaction surveys or for market research purposes.
Except where you tell us not to, we will keep the information for future consideration.
POSTING AN IMAGE
As a Member user you may choose to give us images to post on Aadda.org in relation to responding to forums, inclusion in Member Spotlight or other exposure venues within the AADDA. In submitting such images, you are verifying that you have original rights to or legally shared rights to use such images and you are solely responsible for any liability connected to that use. You also understand that the AADDA or Aadda.org has neither control nor ability to prevent site visitors from copying, downloading or printing that image either legally or illegally. The Association and Aadda.org serves notice that such practices are a violation of copyright and use guidelines for Aadda.org. We will vigorously enforce our copyright and content rights. Should you discover that an image you have placed on our site has been copied or posted on another site please contact the AADDA immediately.
PERSONAL RESPONSE
You may choose to participate in and respond via e-mail or other feedback method(s) in special features on Aadda.org. If you choose to participate and send such feedback, correspondence or questions, you are giving Aadda.org the right to publish, print or post such content to our site, within promotional materials or other printed or e-mail forums we deem beneficial to the AADDA and Aadda.org. If you participate, as a Member or Associate in an Aadda.org discussion forum, chat room, or board - you should be aware that the information you provide there will be made broadly available to others, potentially inside or outside Aadda.org, who have access to that discussion forum or chat room on our site. Also, please recognize that individual forums and chat rooms may have additional rules and conditions for participation. Each participant's opinion on a forum or chat room is his or her own and should not be considered as reflecting the opinion of the AADDA, Aadda.org, its Association, Officers, Governing Board, management or affiliates.
COLLECTION AND USE OF CHILDRENS INFORMATION
The AADDA or aadda.org does not offer nor maintain any venues applicable to children. This site currently does not collect any personally identifiable information from children who visit the site nor is any personal information collected from IP addresses, log files or other backend systems. The Association or Aadda.org may collect certain aggregate data, such as the number of users who visit the Web site, number of visits to specific site pages or specific ads / links and may share that data with Association Members, Associates or partners and advertisers.
Should kids or teens elect to use services, features or links provided through banners, buttons, script or other linking method(s), their ability to do so is vested in your parental supervision of their use. Parents should know which sites their children are using and supervise their ability to access and use those sites.
Members of the AADDA featured in the Membership Directory are responsible for their own information collection practices and COPPA compliance. However, aadda.org will make reasonable efforts to work with its Members, Associates and Business Affiliates to help ensure that the content of any linked website is appropriate for children aged 12 and under. We again, recommend that you review the privacy statements of other Web sites that you and your children visit. The AADDA or aadda.org is not responsible for the content or information collection practices of third party Websites.
If you are a child or a teen under the age of 18, and you are asked to provide personal information in any way on any Web site, notify your parent(s), guardian or other legally responsible parental figure and let them review such request. Never send your personal information: Name, Date of Birth, Social Security Number, Address, Telephone Number, or information from a Credit Card without the permission of your parent or parent figure.
We encourage you to talk with your children about communicating with strangers and disclosing personal information online. You and your child should make such decisions together before such information is released or posted.
AFFILIATE BUSINESS PARTNERS
If you represent an AADDA or aadda.org Business Partner or Affiliate, you may visit aadda.org. You may also visit aadda.org website pages to verify compliance with our affiliate arrangement, critique or make suggestions to aadda.org on improving our relationship or affiliate business results. We may use information provided on that site to administer and develop our Association business relationship with you, the Business Partner or Affiliate you represent, and aadda.org Business Partners or Affiliates in generally.
Affiliate programs may also include sharing certain information with other Business Partners / Affiliates (subject to any confidentiality obligations that may exist), or AADDA Members. In connection with a particular transaction or program, we may also contact you as part of customer satisfaction surveys or for market research purposes.
BUSINESS ADVERTISING
Membership in the AADDA and Member access to aadda.org delivers interactive on-line Membership business advertising such as banner, button, script or other forms of ads/links. These Members and the AADDA may collect and use information about customers to help us better understand the offers, promotions, and types of advertising that are most appealing to our site visitors or membership or associates. After it is collected the information is aggregated so it is not identifiable to a specific individual but rather trends. When using such banners, buttons, script or other links, you understand that you are carried off of the aadda.org website onto the site of that AADDA Member of which aadda.org has no control. We strongly urge all visitors and users to review the Use and Privacy Statements posted on any and all business or affiliate sites linked from Aadda.org.
SHOPPING FEATURES
When you visit one of our Member's or Affiliate linked Web sites, you are doing so as a matter of your own choice. aadda.org does not warrant nor make any guarantee, implied or endorsed as to the content or personal information that may be collected through such sites. aadda.org uses all available and reasonable resources to review all Members or Affiliate partners to provide well known, established and recognized shopping or use services that meet the high standards of the AADDA. We also make every effort to ensure that these sites are within the context of our "Association expectations" orientation. Your choice to visit those sites or participate in any or purchase services or goods - is your own and the AADDA or Aadda.org is not liable for problems associated with third-party sites. This privacy statement was last updated on November 1, 2003. A notice will be posted on our Web site home page for 30 days whenever this privacy statement is changed in a material way.
